Beacham Memorial Hospital statement on COVID-19:
Limiting patients’ and healthcare workers’ exposure to COVID-19 of utmost importance.
Beacham Memorial Hospital will be restricting visitors to all locations in an effort to keep our healthcare workers and patients safe from the threat of COVID-19.
Some measures we have taken include:
We have limited points of entry
We have limited the number of visitors in patient rooms
We are developing a surge plan that would be implemented if there is a large influx of patients
We want to assure our community that we continue to adjust our approach to make sure we are as prepared as possible if and when there are confirmed COVID-19 in our area.
Beacham Memorial strongly encourages those who are experiencing minor symptoms of COVID-19 to isolate themselves for 14 days, avoiding contact with other people and pets. Practice rigorous hygiene, disinfect surfaces regularly and avoid sharing items.
We continue to be in contact with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and other local Health Agencies. Additionally, communication with our employees and physicians is of the utmost importance and we have implemented added training for our employees and regularly conduct exercises for clinicians and staff on the correct procedures for using personal protection equipment while treating patients who may have COVID-19.
