Acute Care Services

Acute Care Hospitals are short-term medical care settings designed to deliver immediate and crucial medical care and treatment with the goal of discharging patients once treatment can be safely provided in a lower level of care setting. Acute Care is for patients who are suffering from serious injuries, disease, illnesses, or medical conditions, or who are may be recovering from major surgery.

At Beacham we offer two distinct acute care services for our valued patients, these two services include:

Observation of an acute medical condition
Inpatient treatment for various medical conditions.

Beacham Memorial has been renovated and upgraded with some of the latest healthcare technology. We are staffed by caring professionals and leaders whom excel in the medical field today.

Admission into our acute care unit involves treatment for multiple diagnosis with new onset of illness’s, ongoing long-term illnesses and for patients who are suffering from other extreme medical complications that need immediate care.  While acute care stays may involve some level of intensive treatment, this pattern of care is usually shorter in its duration. The average length of stay in an acute care setting primarily depends on the diagnosis being treated, in general patients covered by Medicare experienced the longest average length of stay (5.2 days), the median average length of stay (3.8 days) according to the HEALTHCARE COST AND UTILIZATION PROJECT (H-CUP).
