At Beacham Memorial our diagnostic imaging equipment and services are used to create a graphic depiction of the structures and functions of the body’s organs and other internal systems. These images are used to examine and diagnose certain medical conditions.
Computed Tomography, CT, uses x-rays to produce detailed pictures of structures inside the body. A CT scanner directs a series of x-ray pulses through the body. Each pulse lasts only a fraction of a second and represents a “slice” of the organ or area being studied
Ultrasound Scans, also referred to as sonograms, diagnostic sonography, and ultrasonography, is a device that uses high frequency sound waves to create an image of some part of the inside of the body, such as the stomach, liver, heart, tendons, muscles, joints and blood vessels.
General X-Rays / Mobile X-Ray
X-rays are a form of electromagnetic radiation, as are radio waves, infrared radiation, visible light, ultraviolet radiation and microwaves. One of the most common and beneficial uses of X-rays is for medical imaging and diagnosis.

Coronary calcium scans use a special X-ray test called computed tomography (CT) to check for the buildup of calcium in plaque on the walls of the arteries of the heart (coronary arteries). This test is used to check for heart disease in an early stage and to determine how severe it is.
